/ MY STORY
Hi, I’m Stefano Basini, a 23 year-old designer and marketing strategist based in Madrid. I grew up in Cesena, a small coastal town in northern Italy, before finishing the last years of high school in Oregon, USA. I then moved to Milan to study Communication Design, seeking a more international and dynamic environment. After graduating, I moved to Madrid upon receiving a scholarship for a Master’s in Direction of Marketing and Advertising Campaigns. During the program, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the marketing agency Good Rebels on a campaign for Domino’s Pizza, a project that proved deeply inspiring for the path I want to follow as a designer.
At the same time, I began working on small-scale projects for friends and early-stage clients, focusing on visual content creation and branding development. In early 2025, I took on the role of visual director for a startup I’m still involved with, a platform dedicated to promoting private events online. For this project, I developed the brand identity, social media strategy, and website, while also gaining experience in competitive analysis, market research, and exploring various marketing strategies, all reinforced by what I’ve learned throughout my Master’s studies.
To me, creativity is more than a skill, it's a way to connect, inspire, and solve real problems. I see design as the bridge that turns ideas into tangible and impactful solutions. But creativity doesn’t just exist by itself: to design something meaningful, you need to understand the people you’re designing for. That’s why I’ve always been driven by a curiosity for cultures, ideas, and perspectives. Living and studying in different countries has taught me to appreciate the power of seeing the world through multiple lenses.

/ DESIGN FOR ME
In every project I take part on I express my creativity in different ways, even thought I have my own prospective because I like to challenge myself by adapting to different styles. Personally I define my style as direct, functional and emotional, and I like to explain it with “!?” expressing my goal to catch attention and generate curiosity. My ability to adapt and innovate every time is due to my working process that can be resumed in 4 big steps.
Many businesses, startup or simply projects know their final goal but sometimes understanding all the factors of the starting point can be hard, and there are always a lot of things to consider: competitors, market, identity and marketing.
After a general analysis I believe finding the key factor of the project is the most important thing. Creating a solid base so there will always be a starting point, and it applies to all context, from communication to product development.
I always present two type of solution, with major variations but always following the main building key. Psychologically speaking if you only got one proposal people can choose between liking it or not, but with two option the decision becomes which one is their favourite.
As important as the creating process is the continuous adjusting of your product during time. I always follow the progress of a project after its realise to see what factors can be improved or simply adjust to new tendencies and trends.
